Julie Baron LCSW-C

Julie Baron has 28 years of experience working with adolescents, adults and families.  She practices evidence-based relational strategies to engage her clients in intervention and empower them in reaching their goals. She writes articles and blogs and trains adolescents, parents, and professionals on various topics related to adolescent development and social culture, such as bullying and cyber-socializing, positive school climate, and practicing therapy with adolescents and young adults.  Julie is the co-author of What Works With Teens: A Professional’s Guide to Engaging Authentically with Adolescents to Achieve Lasting Change.

Holly Hughes

Maritza McClendon

OLYMPIAN. SPEAKER. INSPIRATION.

Maritza McClendon is a 2004 Olympic Silver Medalist and the first African American woman to make a US Olympic Swim team and medal. She is a 27-time All American, 11 NCAA titles, the first African American female to break an individual American record (2002), and to break a World Record (2000) in swimming. Maritza is a passionate advocate for the importance of water safety among minorities of all ages and travels the country frequently to speak about this life saving skill. She candidly shares her life lessons without sparing any details in hopes to inspire others to overcome hesitation, fear, and disappointment. 

 

Her motto is "Turn any negative situation into something positive and never give up." 

Linda McGhee J.D., PsyD

PSYCHOLOGIST. SPEAKER. RADIO HOST. 

Dr. McGhee uses her voice to uplift the families of children, adolescents and young adults who are faced with a variety of social and academic challenges when entering educational settings.  Without the right foundation and support, those pressures can lead to detrimental outcomes. She is the founder of McGhee & Associates in Chevy Chase Maryland where she specializes in treating adolescents and young adults and performing assessments for learning differences.   Dr. McGhee  speaks at colleges on behalf of the Steve Fund, an organization devoted to mental health for students of color.   She is a regular contributor to the Son Rise Project, a movement to support families of teenagers and young adults. Dr. McGhee hosts a radio show called Good Mental Health on Radio One to raise awareness around mental health.
